About Coaching
Coaching aims to support people to make changes in their lives, to overcome hurdles and achieve their goals in order to increase life satisfaction, maximise their potential and improve their overall well-being and resilience.
Why have coaching?
Many of us will have times in our lives when we recognise that we are simply existing on automatic pilot or that we are feeling stuck and dissatisfied with our lives.
Coaching can help you to:
-
develop an understanding of an issue or problem and what is keeping you stuck
-
identify goals and develop a clear picture of what you would like to change in your life
-
understand how your thinking and mindset can hold you back
-
overcome obstacles that are preventing you from moving forward

The benefits of coaching can include:
-
increased clarity of a particular problem or issue,
-
developing an understanding of yourself, your mindset and how this is holding you back
-
accountability and focus - coaching typically involves setting goals and tasks to work on between sessions; knowing that you have a time and date to review these in session can increase focus and motivation to make changes now
Issues commonly addressed:

Stress and burnout

Why see a Clinical Psychologist for coaching?
As a Clinical Psychologist, I have been trained to work with people to overcome emotional difficulties and improve their psychological well-being. Many of the theories, tools and techniques that we use in psychological therapy are relevant and useful to all of us in managing life's ups and downs and dealing with our day-to-day emotional experience.
I am experienced in using Cognitive Behavioural Coaching and Acceptance and Commitment Coaching tools with clients and I am also currently undertaking a Diploma in Transformational Coaching to further increase the range of skills and knowledge that I can draw upon in my coaching practice.
By having coaching with me, you will not only benefit from effective coaching strategies but I will also share insights and useful tools from psychological therapy.

Additionally, whilst coaching remains an unregulated industry in which anyone can call themselves a "coach", you can be reassured that, as an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist, I abide by strict standards of conduct, performance and ethics and, over the course of my career, I have completed over 15 years of supervised practice.
Is coaching right for me (right now)?
Focus
Do I want to, and is it the right time, to focus on this?
Open
Am I willing to be open and honest about this with my coach?
Collaboration
Am I looking for someone to work collaboratively with me - to support me, give me feedback and tools (but not tell me what to do or give me advice)?
Issue
Is there a discrepency between where I am in one or more areas of my life and where I want to be?
One-off Coaching Session
1.5 hours - £225
Depending on what brings you to coaching, some people find a one-off coaching session focusing on a particular issue is enough to get them back on track.

If you book a one-off coaching session, you will be sent a form and some questionnaires to complete and return to me prior to our session. This will help me understand a bit about what you are looking for before we meet and ensure we can make the most of our time.
Initial / Ongoing Coaching Sessions
Pay per session (60mins) - £150
In the initial coaching session, we will focus on developing an understanding of your current issue, identifying your goals and any obstacles that are currently preventing you from moving forward.

Some people like to book on a session-by-session basis, whilst others find it helpful to book a course of sessions to commit to working on issues over a longer period and to help them keep on track.
Please contact me by email or book an initial telephone consultation to discuss arranging an initial coaching session or coaching package.
